Cash Flow Is a Systems Problem, Not a Sales Problem
A business can show a profit on its income statement and still run out of cash in the bank. Founders usually diagnose that as a sales problem — need more revenue — when it’s actually an operations problem: no cash flow forecast, no clarity on when money actually lands versus when it’s invoiced, no buffer for the gap between the two.
Revenue solves a lot of problems. It doesn’t solve a timing problem, and timing is what actually kills otherwise-healthy businesses — payroll due before a client payment clears, inventory paid for before it sells, a slow season nobody forecasted because nobody was tracking the pattern.
The operations module treats cash flow as infrastructure to build, not a number to hope stays positive — because “more sales” is the wrong fix for a forecasting problem, and a lot of founders spend a year chasing the wrong fix before they find that out.
Profitable on paper doesn’t pay payroll. Forecast the timing, not just the total.
