Your Brand Isn’t a Logo. It’s a Promise You Keep Under Pressure.
Ask a new founder what their brand is and they’ll describe a logo, a color palette, maybe a tagline. None of that is the brand. The brand is the promise a customer can count on, and the real test of it isn’t the first sale — it’s what happens when something goes wrong.
A business that discounts under pressure, ships late without saying so, or changes its story depending on who’s asking doesn’t have a brand problem — it has a promise it never actually decided on. Positioning work that skips this and jumps straight to visual identity is decorating a house with no foundation.
The brand module in the curriculum starts with the promise, not the palette — because a customer forgives a plain logo. They don’t forgive a broken promise, and they definitely don’t come back for a second one.
Define the promise before you touch the palette.
Positioning that holds up under pressure, not just in the pitch deck.
